Question 1

Is this Merge PDF tool free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it's free, with no sign-up and no account. The size and page limits listed below apply to every merge.

Question 2

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. Your files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Question 3

What are the limits?

Accepted Answer

Each PDF can be up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages. One merge can combine up to 20 files, 150 MB in total and 2,000 pages in total. These limits help keep your device from running out of memory.

Question 4

Can I choose the order of the files?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use the Move up and Move down buttons on each file to set the order, and remove any file you don't want. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom. Adding, removing, or reordering files after a merge clears the previous result, so the download always matches the list you see.

Question 5

What does Merge PDF not carry over?

Accepted Answer

Merge PDF combines pages. Bookmarks, document properties such as title and author, page labels, and named destinations are not carried over. Fillable form fields may stop being fillable, and links that jump to another page inside a document may stop working. Web links are kept. Page sizes and orientations are preserved.

Question 6

Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

Accepted Answer

Not directly. A PDF that needs a password to open can't be read here, and some PDFs have security settings this tool can't process even when they open without one. The file is flagged in the list and left out of the merge, so the other files can still be merged.
