Question 1

Is this Delete PDF Pages tool free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes — it's free, with no sign-up and no account. The size and page limits listed below apply to every deletion.

Question 2

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. Your file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Question 3

What are the limits?

Accepted Answer

The PDF can be up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages. These are practical processing limits for working in your browser, so a very large PDF can still be slow or fail on some devices.

Question 4

How do I choose which pages to delete?

Accepted Answer

Type the page numbers and ranges you want removed, separated by commas, for example 2, 5-6. A range ending in a hyphen, like 8-, runs to the last page. The page shows which pages will be deleted and which will remain before you press the button. Your original file isn't changed: you download a new PDF with the other pages. To keep only some pages instead, use Extract PDF Pages.

Question 5

In what order do the remaining pages appear, and can I delete every page?

Accepted Answer

The pages that remain always stay in the same order as in the original PDF, whatever order you type the pages to delete in, and a page you list more than once is deleted once. You can't delete every page, because a PDF needs at least one: if your list would remove them all, the tool says so and nothing is created.

Question 6

What does Delete PDF Pages not carry over?

Accepted Answer

Delete PDF Pages builds a new PDF from the pages you keep. Bookmarks, document properties such as title and author, page labels, and named destinations are not carried over. Fillable form fields may stop being fillable, and links that jump to another page inside a document may stop working. Web links are kept. Page sizes are preserved. Before you can download, the result is checked: it must have exactly the pages that should remain, and each page is compared with the original page it should be. If anything doesn't match, nothing is offered for download.

Question 7

Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF?

Accepted Answer

Not directly. A PDF that needs a password to open can't be read here, and some PDFs have security settings this tool can't process even when they open without one. You'll see a message explaining which applies.
