Question 1

Is this image cropper free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no account, and no limit on how many images you crop.

Question 2

Can I move and resize the crop selection?

Accepted Answer

Yes — drag inside the selection to move it, or drag any of its four corner handles to resize it. Everything stays inside the image's edges automatically, so the selection can't be dragged out of bounds.

Question 3

Can I crop an image using only the keyboard?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tab to the crop selection or to one of its corner handles, then use the arrow keys to move or resize it — hold Shift with an arrow key to move in bigger steps.

Question 4

Will cropping change my image's format?

Accepted Answer

No — a JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG, and a WebP stays a WebP. Transparency in a PNG or WebP is preserved through the crop rather than filled with a background color.

Question 5

Does cropping reduce image quality?

Accepted Answer

Cropping itself only removes the area outside your selection — it doesn't resample what's left. For JPG and WebP, the kept area is re-encoded at a high quality setting so the crop doesn't also visibly compress your photo.

Question 6

Will my photo's rotation come out right?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the tool reads the rotation information your camera or phone embeds in the photo and applies it automatically, so what you see in the cropper is the same way up as your gallery shows it.

Question 7

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. The file is read, cropped, and downloaded entirely inside your browser — it never leaves your device, and nothing is stored on a server.
